Girls Camp 2013

Girls camp was hosted by the Stake This year.  Chris and I went up for Bishopric night and Jenessa came with us.  She didn't go to the week of camp since it was her 16th birthday and wanted to celebrate at home.

The camp leaders had me bring some Birthday cake to celebrate when we got there.  It was also another
girl's birthday - Marissa - so we celebrated in the mountains.

Followed by a wonderful Testimony Meeting.  I love Girls camp.  I love how it brings the girls together how they learn about the spirit.  It's such a blessing for our girls to attend

Sweet 16 -

Our Beautiful Jenessa turned 16!!!   She is very excited to date and drive - and of course as parents it's
bittersweet and hard to believe she is old enough.   We love her and she is such an awesome girl we know she will do great things!

Washington DC Temple - Our 25th Wedding Anniversary

Chris had a chance to go to Baltimore for work so we decided to turn it into a trip for us to go to the Washington D.C. Temple for our 25th anniversary.

The last time that Chris was in Washington DC/Baltimore was when he was 7 years old (1974) just before the temple dedication.   Grandpa Timm was the resident architect on the
temple and Chris spent the summer with Grandma and Grandpa Timmerman while they were
constructing the temple.

Chris was beyond excited

The only real memories he had was Grandpa Timm telling "off" a construction worker because he was smoking while he was installing carpet in the Temple Chapel, and the construction trailer.
Today, we were able to go in that chapel and the memory came flooding back.
The temple is so beautiful and we spent a wonderful, spiritual day inside.

In the visitor center we watched some videos on the history of the temple and we found pictures of Grandpa Timm in two of them.

On the way back to Baltimore, we made the great decision to drive the Beltway to Washington DC.  We didn't get to stop, but we drove past the Lincoln Memorial, Washington Memorial (under construction so it was blue) the Capitol and the White House.  OK for a really quick trip.

We came back to Baltimore and Chris went to the Baltimore Orioles game at Camden Yards.

Our Hotel overlooks the Chesapeake Bay and since we live on Chesapeake we think that's pretty neat :)
