Temple Blessings

Since I had surgery two and a half weeks ago I have been recuperating at home.
Today, however I was able to go to the Temple again.  Each week, as I go to the temple
I feel peace and I feel my Savior's love.  Today as I again entered the beautiful rooms
I felt so happy to be back.  One blessing in particular I received while I was in the temple, is that I will
be completely healed from my Nephrectomy (kidney removal)  and that my remaining kidney will
be healthy throughout my life.

Jordan leaves for Houston, Texas

Jordan left the MTC for Houston, Texas on Tuesday morning. Before he left he was
able to call us for an hour from the airport. It was fun to pass the phone around to all the kids
and let them talk. Ashlee came bright and early and of course he really wanted to talk to her!

Jordan has been called to serve in the Texas, Houston South Spanish Speaking mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints. He has been in the MTC learning spanish for the past 2 months. Of course we are so proud of him!

Conference Weekend

I love General Conference and especially Fall conference.  We went up to the Midway Cabin for the weekend.  The boys went golfing at the Homestead and Wasatch State Park.  Chris took the girls
over to park city for the alpine coaster, slide and trampoline.

I was still recovering from my surgery so I stayed in the recliner most of the weekend - but that's the best
way to watch conference.  I love the spirit of Conference.   While the boys were at Priesthood meeting
Grandma Lynne and I took the kids over to the Homestead to see the scarecrow display.

Not so lovely hospital pix

I am so relieved that my week in the hospital is over.  I do feel so blessed to have made it through and I know I was watched over by my Heavenly Father and lots of earthly angels too.  Chris, my family and ward family were so wonderful to help me

My ugly laproscopic scar
still I'm grateful it wasn't a long incision!

Day Before Surgery

Well I am quite nervous but at the same time I feel peace that everything will turn out well with my surgery.
I will have my kidney removed tomorrow (Nephrectomy).  I was given a priesthood blessing by our Stake
President, President Neilson,  and I was promised that I would recover and that in fact I would later find
out that the surgery would save my life.

Since that blessing, I have found out that if I were to leave the kidney in and then if I were to get
hit hard in that area or be involved in an accident, I could bleed to death.
I do know that I must go through with this surgery and I will be so glad when this next week is over :)

Our 1st Missionary Son

Today Jordan left to a serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints.  He will be serving in Houston, Texas spanish speaking.  But first he is off to the Missionary Training Center to
learn spanish!  Jordan will serve for 2 years.  Our family is so excited to follow his mission to see where
he lives, and learn of the people he meets and share his experiences.

He will share his testimony of our Savior, Jesus Christ and of our Heavenly Father's plan that allows
us to return to live with Him.

Our family is so thankful for Jordan to sacrifice everything to serve the Lord.  He will leave behind his
schooling at BYU, his car, his new ipod touch (his brother has just claimed it), Watching BYU Cougars with Dad and the boys and a girlfriend.   This is a great sacrifice and shows the love he has for the Savior.
