Mother's DAy Activity

We made some bath salts for our activity day project.  Mother's day is Sunday so it's fun for the girls to make a gift to give.  I just found some
lavender scented bath salts at Walmart and then the girls get to choose what color to mix in

The girls enjoyed mixing the salts and choosing the paper for the lid

We also enjoyed some marshmallow treats

The Lost art of embroidery

I am teaching my activity day girls to embroidery.  Not one of them had ever tried it before.
They picked up quite easily and they all seem to enjoy doing it

God Loves Us

Have you ever noticed how the 10 commandment tablets placed together are shaped kind of like a heart?

I believe God gave us these commandments because He loves us and He knows they will make us happy if we follow them

We had a valentine activity day to talk about the 10 commandments and to make these little heart shaped commandment boxes

Mother Daughter Hike

I organized a Mother/Daughter hike for activity days.  We drove up to Silver Lake at Brighton.  One of our favorite places.
It turned out to be a beautiful day

Kaitlyn found a fuzzy caterpillar.....she named Steve

Brycen came along and Chris hoped to drown a worm, but it didn't happen

The girls went on a nature scavenger hunt

Dare to Stand Alone

I am excited to be a leader for the 10 and 11 year old girls in the ward.   We hold activities 2 times each month.  This month we read a talk by President Monson that he gave.  He told us to Dare to Stand Alone.
After we discussed the talk the girls each got to decorate a cupcake any way she chose to.  They were all different and all beautiful.
I showed them a "Hostess cupcake" and asked them if they would be able to find a cupcake just like it, anywhere in the world.  They said yes, you can find them a lot of places.
But their cupcakes were each unique and different.  I challenged them to dare to be different than the world.
Dare to show your testimony and your beautiful self by Standing for the Right!

They are all such sweet and beautiful girls

And I'm especially glad that I get to share this time with Kaitlyn
